Summery Thank You

The rumors are TRUE!! Stampin Up! allowed their demo's to have a sneek peak today of some of the new products that will be in the upcoming catalog!! I am so excited to share with you that there is a Scallop Punch!!! YEAH!! Yes, I did order it first thing this morning too!! ALSO, all of the *new* stamps will be die-cut!! (so the current stamps will still need to be cut) I can't wait until the end of the month when I go to convetion and get my new catty and see all of the fun stuff! I also ordered the new In Colors!! That will be fun to play with!!

Today's card was inspired by Jen!! Thanks for the fun sketch Jen! This is another project/card that we will be making at the class next week!!

The card base is standard size Pumpkin Pie! I used my Summer Day's Simply Scrappin Kit for the DSP. The stripped piece is 1/2" x 5 1/4" layered on a piece of Real Red CS 5 1/4" x 5/8." I stamped the flower from Stiched Exotics with Real Red on Whisper White CS. I stamped the smaller flower with Wild Wasabi (I will really miss this color) and cut them both out with my paper snips! I grabbed a Pumpkin Pie flower from my Flower Fusions stash and adhered these all together with my Bashful Blue brad. This was adhered with Stampin Dimentionals onto a piece of Bashful Blue DSP 2 1/2" square layered on a piece of Wild Wasabi 2 11/16" square, which was also adhered with Stampin Dimentionals!

Once I had everything together I decided that it still needed something. So I figured, you can never have too many Thank You cards, so I added the sentiment from Enjoy Every Moment!

Card Details
Stamps: Stiched Exotics, Enjoy Every Moment
Paper: Summer Days DSP, Bashful Blue DSP, Whisper White, Real Red, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black
Accessories: Paper Snips, Brads, Stampin Dimentionals

Box in a Bag

Isn't this just SO cute!! I found this cute bag through Karen's blog, and she linked the tutorial to Diana's blog!! Thanks you two for the great ideas and inspiration!! I've been trying to figure out what I wanted to do for my class next week, and this is the first thing that I have finally come up with. I've been so busy with the bridal shower and trying to get ready for the yard to be put in!! (the top soil is being delivered as I type!!)

So the shower was on Saturday and we woke up to water all over a portion of the basement. While I was trying to clean the house, get my self ready, and some where find time to pick up my daughter from my mom's house, I was trying to find out where the water was coming from. Ends up (after several hours of searching) that the pipes under the house were clogged. So during the shower, we had Roto Rooter as a suprise guest!! On top of everything I had some stomach bug that kept me away for about half of the shower. (I was so glad that I cleaned the toilet that morning!) Sorry for the info, but it was a crazy day! But I think my sister-in-law received some great things!! Especailly some nice "floor decorations!!" (nighties)

Onto the bag! It was really simple and quick to throw together!! I hope everyone likes them and enjoys making them next week!! Please check out Diana's blog for the tutorial!

Box Details
Stamps: Always
Paper: Pumpkin Pie DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Paper Snips, Crop-a-dile, Brads, Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Round Tab Punch, Slit Punch, Marker

Tag Time...AGAIN!!

I've been tagged again!! Thanks Chelle!! So enjoy a moment with your AC blowing on your while I tell you a few little facts about me!!
1. I love Matthew McConaughey!! Well, love probably isn't the right word, but I really like him!! What a cutie on the screen! Don't worry ladies, my hubby is my number one man!!
2. I love Pina Colada's!! Well, since I don't drink, I like the virgin version!! The best one that I ever had was my Junior year down in Florida!! YUM!! That was a fun vacation!

3. I would really enjoy a week of any type of VACATION!! No phone, no computer, no responsibilites!! A cruise would be ideal!! Say either Hawaii, or the Caribbean again!

4. I am not the biggest fan of the color pink; HOWEVER, since I had my little girl, the color has really started to grow on me. Don't worry, I am not going to just go shopping and buy myself a pink wardrobe, or hose down the house with pepto-bismol (Thank you Sally Fields in Steel Magnolias) Oh, and I am really looking forward to the new Stampin Up! In Color Pink Pirouette!

5. Driving in the card, I can't stand listening to kids music. So I actually lie to my daughter and tell her that it isn't in the car...I keep meaning to take it inside so I'm not lying, but she doesn't really knwo the difference....until she found it the other day. OOPS!

6. My favorite foods are Mexican and Italian. I found the greatest saying a few weeks ago, it was something along the lines of "The worst thing about Italian food is you are hungry three days later!" Well, these used to be my faves, now my fave would actually have to be whatever I didn't cook. I really enjoy the break!!

7. My fave candy bar is a Snickers!! But if there's something with Chocolate AND Peaunut Butter around, I am a happy camper!!
Now for those that I am tagging...

7. Mary

Two Hearts

Tomorrow is the Bridal Shower for my SIL! I realized late last night that I still haven't made a card for the occation...nor have I purchased a gift yet! So I pulled out Julee's Sketch Challenge and went to town this morning!! I through it together rather quickly...trying to finish before my daughter woke up!

The card base is Pretty in Pink (standard size) layered with a piece of 4 1/8" x 2 1/2" Basic Black that was scored every 1/2" with my ScorPal. The top section is Whisper White and I used my Polka Dot BG along with Versa Mark and Whisper White EP for the texture. I also used the WW EP on a piece of Basic Black CS along with the Versa Mark and the heart from Always, as well as Basic Black EP on WW CS!! I just cut these out with my Paper Snips.

I used my Pretty in Pink CS and my 3/16" corner rounder for the scallop in the middle, I added some ribbon...which may have been too much. I then grabbed my BB EP again and stamped the sentiment on a piece of Pretty in Pink CS and punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch. I layered this on a piece of BB 1 3/4" circle, layered on a piece of WW Scallop Circle punch!

I used my mat pack to help me space my pink brads evenly! And I adhered the white flower with Stampin Dimentionals!

Card Details
Stamps: Always, Polka Dot BG
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Versa Mark
Accessories: Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun, 1/16," 1 1/4," 13/8," Scallop Circle Punch, Brads, Ribbon

I also took a picture of the belly band off, but I was also trying to clean off my computer at the same time and deleted it before uploading it to the internet. Sorry!

Happy Birthday Papa

Today is my dad's birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!! (that's what all the grandkids call him!) I designed this card to play along with two challenges today; Andrea's and Splitcoasts Color Challenge. I found the card on Paper Crafts Mag homepage, I couldn't find a link to the actual card, so it's near the "Subscribe Today" link. Andrea's challenge is to find a card and make it again using all Stampin Up product! And the color challenge is Whisper White, Taken With Teal, and Wild Wasabi.

The card base is standard Taken with Teal, Layered with a piece of WW just 1/4" smaller. The rectangles are all Taken with Teal and Wild Wasabi 1 3/16" x 1 5/8", layered with Bali Breeze DSP and Wild Wasabi DSP 1 1/16" x 1 3/4".

I stamped the happy sentiment from It's All Good with Wild Wasabi. Then I stamped the circle from Boho Backgrounds with Wild Wasabi and Taken With Teal. The Happy sentiment was punched out with the 1" circle punch, and the two Boho Backgrounds were punched out with 1 1/4" and 1 3/8", layered on a piece of WW scalloped circle. I then adhered a piece of Wild Wasabi ribbon to the back and used stampin Dimentionals.
To make my rectangles appear straight, I lined up two piece of CS so the edges were flush with my card front.
Then I adhered the rectangle by putting it in the corner of the two pieces of card stock.

Card Details
Stamps: It's All Good, Boho Backgrounds
Paper: Bali Breeze DSP, Wild Wasabi DSP, Taken With Teal, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Taken with Teal
Accessories: Ribbon, Stampin Dimentionals, 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8" and Scalloped Circle punches

Always

My anniversary is coming up this week so I thought I would play around with anniversary cards!! We'll see how many I actually get around to playing with!! I wanted to play with this heart, and also today's challenge. But unfortunately I didn't sleep much last night so I didn't really have any insiration. So I am actually somewhat mocking Beate's card! I switched up the colors, and I didn't add the layers to the heart.

I also tried a few more new things with my photo taking/saving to the computer! Hope you all like it better!

The base of the card is Old Olive 4 1/4" x 8 1/2". Next is a piece of So Saffron DSP that was paper pierced. The Whisper White is 2" x 4" and the one end was scalloped with the 3/16" corner rounder. The Regal Rose piece of CS is 1 1/2" x 4". The stem was stamped with Regal Rose and then I used the daubers to the edge and paper pierced again.

I stamped the heart from Always with Versa Mark and then embossed with Whisper White. Then I pulled out my Regal Rose reinker and Purely Pomegranet and aqua painters. I also stamped the Always sentiment with Regal Rose and sponged with So Saffron and punched it out with 1 1/4", and layered this on a pieceo f 1 3/8" Purely Pomegranet, layered on an Old Olive Scalloped Circle Punch. I also punched out a Whisper White Photo Corner and added three brads. I also added a piece of Purely Pom. ribbon.

Card Details
Stamp: Always
Paper: Old Olive, So Saffon DSP, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Purely Pom
Ink: VersaMark, Regal Rose
Accessories: Ribbon, Photo Corner Punch, 3/16" corner rounder, mat pack, brads, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punch

Enjoy-CI12

So for the first time ever, I decided to try out Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge. And after I finally made the card and uploaded it to my computer, I realized that the creation needed to be submitted by 7:00pm tonight. OOPS! Just three hours late! Well, even though I'm late, it was still kinda fun.

This card isn't one of my favorite creations but I think it was still fun!

The card base is standard Sahara Sand. I used my 1" circle punch and punched out several So Saffron and Wild Wasabi circles. I stamped the sentiment from Enjoy Every Moment in Wild Wasabi on a scrap piece of Whisper White. I also used my 3/16" corner rounder. I used the 1/16" circle punch and added a So Saffon Brad to the sentiment, and then adhered this to my card with Stampin D's!

Emma's Turning Two

I will miss Beate’s weekend sketche’s this summer, but I know that she will have a great time with her kids! So here is my last WSC until the middle of August!

While making this card, I realized that I really do not like having my desk right under the window. It was so bright it was hard to work with colors. Then I really didn’t like it when it came time to take the picture. So I had to move my lights to where my punches were so I could take a pic. It still isn’t the greatest. So if I leave my desk where it is, I think working down here in the morning works best….but we all still have fun right!!

Tonight my daughter and I are going to a birthday party for a little girl from our church. They are in the same nursery class. So I knew right away that today’s sketch would be for Emma. I also knew that I would be using pink, because she is a “little princess!” Which also made it so I wanted to use some form of bling!! I started off with a card base of 6 ¾” x 3 ½” of Regal Rose CS. I stamped the berry stamp from Always (yes, I finally bought it!!) with VersaMark. I took my Regal Rose Craft ink and stamped the flower on a piece of Whisper White. I then poured Hologram Highlights on top while it was still wet to add the desired bling! I then used the heat gun to set it. After this step, I punched it out with my 1 ¼” circle punch.

I also punched a Rose Red 1 ¾” circle and Regal Rose Scalloped Circle punches. I didn’t want to go and grab my stapler so I just used snail to keep my ribbon folded the way I wanted!! I also adhered this piece with Stampin Dimentionals. I pulled out my Rose Red DSP and cut a 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” piece. I also grabbed the Whisper White again and made to scalloped edges with the 3/16” corner rounder punch. I used the All Holidays stamp set for my sentiment, along with Rose Red ink and my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

I also played with my Heat and Stick powder and the Rose Red glitter. I really liked it!! But I didn't like how it was coming together so I decided to use the Regal Rose and HH.

Card Details
Stamaps: Always, All Holidays
Paper: Rose Red DSP, Whisper White, Rose Red, Regal Rose
Ink: Regal Rose Craft, VersaMark, Rose Red
Accessories: 1 ¼,” 1 ¾,” and Scalloped Circle Punches, 3/16” corner rounder punch, Hologram Highlights, Ribbon, Snail, Stampin D’s, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Ten Years Ago: I moved away from “home” in Indiana and headed west to go to college in Rexburg, ID

Five thing in today’s ‘to do’ list:
1. Hang out with a good friend and watch our kids play
2. Organize and deliver the Stampin Up order that came today (that’s right ladies, it’s here!)
3. Play with my daughter in the new swimming pool
4. Do some laundry
5. REST…won’t happen, but it would be nice!

Snacks I enjoy: Does water count? Anything chocolate, angel food cake, and this time of year I just love fresh fruit!

Things I would do if I was a millionaire:
That would be nice, I would pay off our huge mortgage, but a big SUV and not worry about the cost of gas, go on more vacations, and bring some great friends along with me!

Places I have lived: Nevada, Utah, Washington (state), Indiana, Idaho, and Utah again (5 states and at least 12 cities)

Photo Taking

So I keep looking at all of the wonderful pictures that people take and upload of their artwork. My pictures just seem to be so dark. Sure I am stamping and taking them in the basement, but I was also hoping that to Ott-Lites would help. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for me? I am also using a pretty nice camera, so I can't blame it on that!! THANKS in advance for any help/suggestions!

THANKS-WSC52

YEAH!! It’s the weekend! And of course that means Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge is here!! I just can’t get enough of her challenges! And after I finished the card, I realized that I added an extra piece!! OOPS! I still like it though! I wanted to make my DH a Father’s Day card, but I didn’t want to use the same set that I have been working with, so I pulled out the Full of Life set!

The base is Old Olive, standard size, with a layered Pumpkin Pie just 1/8” smaller! The Summer Picnic DSP is 2 x 5, 2 x 4, and 2 x 3/14!! Then the Whisper White CS is 2
½ x 2 ½. I used my markers and Stamp-a-ma-jig (love it!). I also used the mat pack to add some paper piercing!! This was also adhered with Stampin Dimentionals (another love) and tied a piece of striped Pumpkin Pie ribbon.

Tutorial Tuesday-Dad Faux Page Pebbles

This card serves multi purposes!! Of course today is Wednesday so I wanted to play with today’s sketch challenge! Also, I wanted to play with Andrea’s Tutorial Tuesday from yesterday. Plus, I needed another door prize for my class tonight!

I started off with using the East Coast Prep DSP and stamped the “DAD” with the Rough Edges Alpha with VersaMark (a lot less messy than the Whisper White) and then used Whisper White EP! I then of course used the Heat Gun to set!

I grabbed a scrap piece of the DSP which measures 3x3 for the angled piece of the sketch. I also grabbed another scrap of Real Red CS that was sitting around, it fit just about perfectly!! I mounted this all onto a piece of Wild Wasabi.

For Andrea’s challenge, I punched out some of the circles also from the East Coast Prep DSP with my ¼” circle punch and used my Crystal Effects to make Faux Page Pebbles!!

Card Details
Stamps: Rough Edges Alpha
Paper: East Coast Prep DSP, Real Red, Wild Wasabi
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Whisper White EP, Heat Gun, Stampin D’s, ¼” circle punch, Crystal Effects

YEAH!! A chance to play the weekend sketch challenge again! I just love Beate’s challenges! They are so “fresh & fun!” My niece is turning one in just a few days so this card is for her party tonight!

I started off with a Purely Pomegranate base and pulled out my Cutie Pie DSP! The DSP is 5 ½” x 1 ¾” layered on top of a piece of So Saffron about 3/8” larger. I also pulled out my Punches Plus Classy Brass that I haven’t even opened yet! It was fun playing with it! I used it along with my mat pack and then punched out the circles with the ¾” circle punch. I also used the mat pack to paper pierce the So Saffron on the bottom.

I stamped the cupcake from Big Bold Birthday on Whisper White CS with Purely Pomegranate for the cake and the frosting with Versa Mark and then used Whisper White EP! I adhered the cupcake with Stampin Dimensionals (the frosting was doubled with SD’s) onto a piece of Bashful Blue 2 ¼” square, which was layered onto a piece of Certainly Celery 2 7/8” square.

I tied a piece of Purely Pomegranate ribbon around before adhering everything to the base. I also stamped the sentiment with Basic Black

Bridal Shower Invite #2

Here is my second attempt with Beates’ weekend sketch challenge. I wanted to flip it so it would work better as an invitation!

The Pretty in Pink DSP is 3 ¼” x 2 ¾”. Again my scrap piece of Pretty in Pink 1” came in handy, layered with a piece of 1 1/8” Whisper White.

This time my image is stamped with She’s all That (pretty in pink and basic black) on a piece of 2 ½” x 3 ½” Whisper White, layered on a piece of Basic Black just ¼” larger! Also adhered with Stampin Dimentionals! I also tied a piece of ribbon around!

Pink Bridal Shower

I have a sister-in-law that is getting married in July. I am in charge of making the invitations to the shower, which is at my house! I wanted to try out Beates sketch this weekend!! I can’t mass produce this exact invite because I don’t have enough of the pink DSP. But I still like how it turned out! Especially since one of the wedding colors is pink, and I just struggle with pink. Though, I am getting better with it since I have a little girl!

The card base is Basic Black standard size. Layered with a piece of Whisper White CS 5”x 3 ¾” layered with Basic Black CS, and Pretty in Pink DSP (print pack) each just ¼” smaller than the other. I had a scrap of 1” Pretty in Pink so I put it to use layered over a piece of Whisper White CS just 1/8” larger. I then tied a piece of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, which is much more elegant looking than plain grosgrain ribbon!

I stamped my main image from She’s All That with Pretty in Pink. Before I stamped, I grabbed my Basic Black marker and inked up the sentiment. I then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the girl on a piece of 2 3/8” x 3 3/8” Whisper White CS, which is layered on a piece of Basic Black just 1/8” larger. I adhered the main image layers with Stampin Dimentionals (my fave!)

Make A Wish

Yesterday was my sister-in-laws birthday!! Happy Birthday Desi!! Tomorrow we are headed out to Denver to spend Memorial Day weekend with her and her family!! She also had her second baby back in March, I am so excited to meet him! I just got this set earlier this week, so of course I was happy to have an “excuse” to use it!!

I also used todays sketch challenge for my layout!! The large middle section was perfect for this set!! Thanks Rox!

I started off with a Basic Black base (standard size) and layered it with a piece of Certainly Celery just ¼” smaller. The main image was stamped with Regal Rose on a piece of Whisper White 2 ½” x 4”. Isn’t this set just so cute! I love what I have seen done with the She’s All That set! This was layered onto a piece of Basic Black just ¼” larger. The side panels are Regal Rose 1 ½” x 3” stamped with the flowers from Boho Backgrounds and Regal Rose.

I wanted to add just a little something more so I grabbed my photo corner punch and punched out Certainly Celery and Regal Rose and added three Black Brads and adhred this to my card with Stampin Dimentionals. I also wanted more depth to the card so I adhered the Certainly Celery to the card base with Stampin Dimentionals!! Hope my sister-in-law enjoys the card!!

Card Details
Stamps: She’s All That, Boho Backgrounds
Paper: Basic Black, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose

At first I started off just making a thank you card for my mom’s for their Mother’s Day card! I just went back to an old sketch to see what I could come up with! I really like it! I also used Chat’s idea for the bleach and the punches around the sentiment. Again, sorry that I am not leaving the big details, I will try to get to it next week….but the sizes for this card are the same as my Embrace Life card!

Card Details
Stamps: Embrace Life, All Holidays

I am so glad that I got to play along this weekend! I wanted to make a Mother’s Day card and I ended up with this card!! I think it turned out fun!

The base is Groovy Guava, layered with a piece of Ruby Red just 3/4" smaller, which is then layered by a piece of Very Vanilla just 1/8" smaller.
